David W Hatz CPA

Dave graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Accounting. He received his CPA license in 1977 and began his career at Grant Thornton. Dave founded Preferred Tax Advisors with Robert Hatch in 2018 after decades of preparing taxes as a sole proprietor and working as an independent financial advisor. He has been stepping back from his full-time roll with PTA over the last 5 years, and has officially entered full-time retirement.

Dave has over 40 years of experience in tax accounting and personalized financial planning. Throughout his career, Dave had a passion for helping clients file their personal and business taxes during tax season, and tax and investment planning throughout the rest of the year.

A majority of Dave’s free time is spent with his wife Marge and traveling to visit their three children and his six grandchildren. Dave enjoys taking his grandchildren fishing on Lake Wisconsin, which is a few miles north of our office in Lodi.

He also holds a variety of positions with his local Presbyterian church and the regional governing body of the Presbyterian Church (USA).
